Moment ago the House impeachment managers in the 2nd impeachment of Donald J. Trump have motioned to bring witnesses to be subpoenaed and to submit testimony pursuant to Trump’s ‘state of mind’ and behavior during, before and after the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by the domestic terrorists consisting of the Proud Boys, QAnon, white supremacist racists, neo-Nazi fascists, elements of the alt-Right, Oath Keepers (a law enforcement identified terrorist organization and garden variety kooks and crazies in the Cult of Trump.
In a 55-45 in a bi-partisan vote the Senate has affirmed allowing witness testimony. Where it is suggested that one witness Rep. Jaime Lynn Herrera Beutler (R-WA/3) will testify to House Minority Leader McCarthy’s phone conversation with Trump where McCarthy told him in “a heated argument” over the attack on the U.S. Capitol: “Who in the fuck do you think you are talking to?!” .. But not before Trump’s legal team blowing a gasket and demanding to counter this motion for witness to bring “100” of their own witness .. among whom could be Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Kamala Harris .. not to mention a demand by Trump’s attorney Michael van der Veen in holding the deposition of the the witnesses “in his office” and of which drew laughter from the gallery.
11:45 am – After a quorum call the Senate trial is now on a break /
12:50 pm – Trump’s counsel stipulates the statement by Rep. Jaime Lynn Herrera Beutler (R-WA/3) and will enter this as “evidence”..
Senate will begin closing arguments . . .
